Hello!
I'm Chad Bowen.
Get to know me.
How I got started in UX design
My journey to UX design began with a desire to create an impact.
While working at OC Tanner in 2015, I reviewed our clients' usage of our employee recognition software solution, presented it to them, and gathered feedback.
After doing this for a couple of years, I realized that I had access to valuable info, but only had minimal influence on making a real impact.
My desire to create an impact was growing.
During this time, I became familiar with OC Tanner's UX design team, and what UX designers actually do. This is when the proverbial lightbulb turned on. This was my avenue to creating an impact--meaningful impact.
My interest in UX design led me to a year-long mentorship with the UX manger at OC Tanner. Because of this, I was able to "hit the ground running" in my first full-time position as a UX designer with TEKsystems.
What I'm curious about
FITTING THE UX PROCESS INTO THE AGILE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS - Based on my experience with the agile dev process, the UX process is never fully considered, and sometimes treated as an afterthought. Understanding how to help agile teams know how to integrate UX into its process intrigues me.
This is something that I love to read about, and think about how this knowledge can help me be a better designer.
UNDERSTANDING THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION - This is a topic that has fascinated me well before I got into UX design, and is part of what fueled my desire to get into UX design.
